Community
We live here, work here, and volunteer here! Our roots are here – we are committed to the community in which we have a vested interest in promoting.
The Renken Company is committed to supporting the community and local charities. Our executive leadership works to identify and support local associations and organizations that embody our company values.
CHARITABLE AFFILIATIONS
The Renken Company backs the following organizations:
Haynes Family of Programs
The Haynes Family of Programs provides specialized treatment and educational services to children with special needs relating to emotional development, autism, Asperger’s Disorder, learning disabilities, neglect, and abandonment. It was founded in October 1946 by LeRoy Haynes, a former chaplain at the Fred Nelles Youth Authority in Whittier, as a way to help many of the troubled boys he served through intervention and treatment in a home-like setting.
Friends of Foster Children
Friends of Foster Children is a non-profit, all volunteer organization founded in 1976 to enhance the quality of life for abused, abandoned and neglected children in the San Gabriel Valley. They do this by providing goods, volunteer services and financial support to foster children living in residential treatment centers and emancipated youth.
Claremont Education Foundation
Through the generosity of our donors and business partners, we are able to help maintain the educational experience we have come to expect in Claremont. For almost 30 years, CEF has worked hand-in-hand with Claremont Unified School District and the community to assist in providing all Claremont students the best education possible. We work to close the gap left in state funding and help protect school district priorities by granting, to every school, funds to support art, music, and technology programs as well as grants to educators for special initiatives, allowing for smaller, but impactful programs to happen.
Shoes That Fit
Shoes That Fit tackles one of the most visible signs of poverty by giving kids in need new athletic shoes to attend school with dignity and joy. Together, we can make a difference to kids in need. We can alleviate this simple burden. We can stop bullying by making sure no child is wearing shoes that are too old or smelly or too inappropriate. Since our founding in 1992, we’ve provided over 2 million pairs of brand new shoes and other necessities to children across the United States. Our vision is that, one day, every child in America who needs new shoes gets new shoes, allowing all children the opportunity to reach their highest potential.
Claremont Rotary Club
An organization of businesses and professional leaders united worldwide who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build goodwill and peace in the world.
